Internal Arts - Tai Chi, Yoga & Other Arts

Tai Chi

The Internal Fighting Arts, such as Tai Chi, rely on refined use of evasion, energy, mind, and spirit. They work on the principle that spirit, mind, and energy can overcome physical strength and power.

Their ultimate aim is to transmute the body, mind, and soul, and return to emptiness/fullness. That is merge with the Cosmic Principles of the Tao or God.

Tai Chi is initially practiced slowly, gently, and rhythmically and is very good for health. Students do not have to progress to practical use as a fighting art if they do not wish to do so.

Tai Chi can be practiced for health and meditation in motion. Tai Chi also helps promote good circulation, joint and muscle mobility for young and old alike. It is a very comfortable, "soft" form of exercise for the mind, body and spirit.

The benefits of Tai Chi training to experienced Martial Artists who have trained in other styles is immeasurable.  Bringing a more balanced and circular approach to existing skills.

Yoga

The word Yoga means union, or to yoke. Yoga originated in India and dates back many thousands of years. Most westerners practice the physical aspect of Yoga, the poses or "asanas".

The physical aspects of Yoga have many benefits, including relaxation, increased flexibility and "soft" exercise for the young and old alike. Also, it can help develop mental clarity, stress control and general well being.

Yoga has many more aspects than just the physical. The deeper one delves into Yoga the more it's benefits are unearthed. Including a greater understanding of your inner self.

Instruction at the Agarthi Siddha school allows the student to focus on individual aspects of Yoga or a combination of all. Such as the physical, mental or spiritual. Training focuses initially on the "asanas" and meditation techniques.

Yoga is also a very inexpensive form of practice, with the only equipment required being a comfortable mat.

Many people have the misconception that Yoga is a type of religion. This is not the case and Yoga practice does not interfere or try to contradict any religious teachings.
